Recently, e-mails circulated regarding the fact that Eliot was 6 or 7 months behind in paying his gas bill. Did you know that until last March he was 7 or 8 months behind in paying his Homeowners Association bills?
At the initial Vigilance Committee meeting last March, Eliot made negative comments regarding those homeowners who maintain an account with the administration to be used to pay homeowners dues and utility bills. He claimed he did all his bill paying himself and these accounts made unnecessary work for the administration.
We now can see what kind of job Eliot does with bill payments. What does this say about our President? Where there's smoke, there's likely to be fire folks.

Pay our People

For the past two months the Administrator and his two office employees have not been paid because of a decision made by our Vigilance Committee. This is being done to "obtain evidence" to further their Jihad against Jose Luis.

This was a dumb, counterproductive move at the start and gets dumber by the day. Payment must be made now.

Now we have one of erstwhile homeowners calling on the Mexican homeowners to defend their honor and people against thowe Ugly Americans.

Frankly, this Ugly American believes that approach can and will do nothing but harm; it is a bad omen for the entire Las Gavias community.
Together, lets demand our Committee end its thoughtless payment boycott. At the same time, let's do this in a civilized manner and avoid further divisive rhetoric.

Large Cruise ships visit Mazatlan throught the week during the main tourist season. They provide a welcome boost to the Mazatlan economy and were sorely missed during the past flu emergency. Hopefully the upcoming flu season will be kinder to us all.

Lack of Insurance

Prez still refusing to talk to Administrator. Presently we have no coverage at all, but Prez sticks to writing letters and e-mails. No eyeball to eyeball meetings are considered. This approach won't work. Question is: what to do?

Other issue is where is our $$$. Admin says to funds available to fix swimming pool tank (about $3,000US)...this is scarey!

And the beat goes on.

The situation between Administration, Homeowners, and Vigilance Committee has become farcical. Shouting e-mail screaming LIAR, THIEF, IMPEACH THEM, have become commonplace. In the meantime, important HOA business remains undone.

The question of insurance coverage is a huge issue right now. Homeowners voted in May to drop expensive earthquake and hurricane coverage, but many claim foul: they claim the meeting was illegal and the vote non-binding. The Administrator has continued to pay all premiums until now. Apparently we now have no coverage, not only for earthquake and hurricanes, but for liability and fire also. This is crazy, but true.

We have never been given a real analysis of our insurance situation. Instead we've heard only personal opinions based on who-knows-what.

Another problem, the Administrator and our Vigilance Committee are NOT SPEAKING, let alone working together to finish projects and plan ahead .

Some owners are now making one last push to bring a return to civility and productivity to our howmstead. We'll see what happens.
